We appreciate your interest in our Government Affairs program.
The American Association for Nude Recreation, Western Region (AANR West) is the
region of AANR that represents our members in the state of Arizona, California,
Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
At AANR, our mission is to “Advocate nudity and nude
recreation in appropriate settings, and educate and inform society of the value
and enjoyment of such through on-going member growth.” We take this mission very
seriously, and depend on you, our members, to help keep us apprised of
developments that could infringe on our right to practice nudism.
AANR is always looking for opportunities to make a
positive difference---as the credible voice of reason---explaining the wholesome
benefits of nudity and nude recreation to lawmakers, staff, and decision makers
in business and even your next-door neighbor.
In addition to keeping you informed about issues
affecting us by visiting here regularly, there are some other simple things you
can do to help AANR protect what you enjoy:

Read your morning newspaper
and your favorite news websites with an eye open for developments that could affect nude recreation. Please drop an email to your Regional
Government Affairs Team (GAT) CHAIR, Debra Sue Stevens at dsstevens@aanrwest.org or to AANR staff
coordinator, Patricia Orner at government@aanr.com and let us know about it.
This is particularly important on local issues – so start or join a
Community Awareness Team (CAT). AANR dues help fund legislative tracking
software that follows Congress and statehouses. As the saying goes, however,
“All politics are local.” And you are our best eyes and ears;

Provide us with your very
most current mailing information and background. If you are an AANR member,
take just a few minutes to visit our Update your Membership Information
section and fill out the brief form that follows it will help us. We may be
able to use information about career backgrounds, family size, and more to
make key points to lawmakers. And we'll be sure to have the information on
the best way to contact you and let you know about important developments;

Support GAT fund raisers –
Drawings and silent auctions are fun ways to raise required financing; you
can enter our current drawing to win a vacation!

Keep your AANR membership
up-to-date – Your membership dues help fund a variety of government affairs
efforts. From financing attorneys, lobbyists, letter-writing drives, and the
Association's attendance at legislative shows like the National Conference
of State Legislatures and the Council on State Governments you make it
possible;

enhance, and protect in appropriate settings, nude recreation and nude living in
the Americas.
